HitWall Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
HitWall is an Android app that analyses tennis practice against a wall. It is developed by Artem Tarasov (“we”). This policy explains what the app does with your data. In short: everything is processed on your phone, and we do not receive any of it.
What the app processes
- Videos you record in the app or pick from your gallery.
- The wall marking you draw on a video frame.
- Analysis results: ball contacts on the wall, ball speed, where you hit from, stroke type (forehand, backhand, serve), streaks and progress.
- Settings: your racket hand and the app language.
To find strokes, the app detects body pose (the position of joints) in the video frames. This happens on the phone, is used only to classify strokes, and pose data is not stored apart from the stroke results.
Where it is stored
Videos recorded in the app are saved to your phone’s gallery (the HitWall album). Analysis results, the wall marking, settings and copies of imported videos are stored in the app’s private storage on your phone.
What we collect and share
Nothing. The app has no internet access: it does not request the internet permission, so it cannot send data anywhere. There are no accounts, ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking. We do not collect, sell or share personal data. Your videos and results leave the phone only if you share them yourself, for example with the Share button.
Android backup
If backup to your Google account is turned on on your phone, Android itself may include the app’s results and settings in that backup (copies of imported videos are excluded). The backup is handled by Google under Google’s privacy policy, and you can turn it off in the phone’s settings. We have no access to it.
Google Play
The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect data about installs and, when the app offers a purchase, processes the payment. We do not receive your payment details. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Permissions
- Camera: to record your training.
- Notifications: to show the progress of an analysis and when it is done.
- Foreground service: so that an analysis you started continues while the screen is off or you use another app.
- Videos: the app opens only the videos you pick in the system picker.
Keeping and deleting data
Data stays on your phone until you delete it. Deleting a training deletes its results; a video in your gallery stays yours. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in the phone’s settings deletes everything the app stored.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date and will appear in the app.
